In production, your bot is run in a restricted environment. This allows us to support bugs and error reports more easily, and makes checking the code before publication much easier.
This means that when developing, you must use the libraries we provide, and a version of Python that we support.
The current version of Python on the Turbot server is 2.7.3. See here for the current set of libraries.
